THE PACKAGING SPECIFICATION NOTEBOOK / Design the whole system

A wall count starts a question.

Single, double and triple-wall descriptions identify construction families. They do not approve a package for your load.

Get the actual specification

Ask for the supplier’s stated board and box specification, including the test information relevant to the design. Keep printed markings and supplier documents with the enquiry. A photograph of thickness is not the same evidence.

Describe the environment

Explain stacking, storage duration, handling and any likely moisture exposure. The supplier needs those conditions along with the product description to assess the system. Do not select from a weight alone.

Confirm the complete assembly

Include the bottom, closure, supports and base in the review. Record which design is being offered and which changes require another assessment. A familiar construction name should not hide an unreviewed substitution.

Technical context: FedEx · preparing boxes for freight ↗. This note prepares a specification conversation. Confirm the actual design and shipping requirements with the responsible supplier and carrier.

Keep building the brief.
