THE PACKAGING SPECIFICATION NOTEBOOK / Follow the handling

The route includes time spent standing still.

Storage conditions and duration belong beside the transport plan.

Record the staging environment

Explain whether packages are indoors, near doors or exposed to changing conditions. Give the expected storage duration and any constraints on floor space. Keep observed conditions distinct from assumptions.

Describe stacking expectations

Tell the supplier how units are intended to be arranged and what may be placed above them. Ask for a review of the actual packaging system and conditions. Do not derive stacking approval from the word “heavy-duty.”

Check before dispatch

Confirm the packer’s inspection process after storage and before handoff. Record visible changes and consult the responsible supplier when condition has changed. Keep affected units identifiable.

Technical context: FedEx · preparing boxes for freight ↗. This note prepares a specification conversation. Confirm the actual design and shipping requirements with the responsible supplier and carrier.
