THE PACKAGING SPECIFICATION NOTEBOOK / The specification notebook

Give the supplier a brief that can move forward.

The next useful answer comes from clear evidence and clearly marked unknowns.

Describe product and quantity

List dimensions, weight, contact restrictions, required quantity and timing. State whether the enquiry concerns a new design, replacement supply or an available surplus lot. Include photos or drawings through the agreed follow-up channel.

Describe the entire journey

Add packing equipment, storage, transport and receiving constraints. Explain any return loop. Keep private access or commercial details for the parties that need them rather than posting them publicly.

Name the decisions still needed

Ask the supplier to confirm construction, protection, base, closure, final dimensions and validation. A submitted enquiry is a starting point; availability, pricing and acceptance still require a response.

Technical context: PCA · packaging to contain products ↗. This note prepares a specification conversation. Confirm the actual design and shipping requirements with the responsible supplier and carrier.
